The Fountainhead Network in Port Coquitlam, BC
By Meltem Algan
Coworking spaces are pure gold.
The Fountainhead Network (TFN) is a family-run, coworking space located in Port Coquitlam, BC.
It is a true hidden gem.
Co-founded by two of the most welcoming people I have met this year, TFN offers more than just meeting spaces. It offers what we all need right now: community and support.
Originally founded by Roberta Scarlett, Erin Scarlett and Mike Arboit partnered with Roberta in June 2019 to plan the launch of their space.
They successfully launched TFN in February 2020.
Right before the pandemic hit.
And while Erin admits that “opening a coworking space during a pandemic was like, the feeling of becoming an entrepreneur x1000000”, it allowed them to focus on building a strong, online community.
“We wanted to start our PoCommunity podcast during the pandemic in hopes to help support and promote local entrepreneurs, start-ups, content creators, and small business owners who might not have that outlet or reach,” Erin says.
TFN’s Podcast Studio can accommodate up to 8 people (when physical distancing is not required). It is an amazing rental space for producing high-quality recordings on demand. Zero equipment needed.
TFN is particularly great for “members who want to be part of a community and help support one anothers success. Usually along the lines of content creators, digital marketers, social media gurus, software developers, web designers, and more”, says Erin.
So what makes The Fountainhead Network so great?
- Very affordable rates
- Awesome member perks
- Versatile, fully-equipped meeting rooms (24/7 access)
- Podcast & Green Screen Studios
- Flex Workshop Room
I have worked out of coworking spaces before, but have never been offered a complimentary headshot, monthly coaching sessions or the opportunity to be featured on a podcast. All of which are incredibly high-value perks, particularly for those starting their own business. TFN also offers specialty teas, coffees and beer on tap.
“A lot of coworking spaces are getting more into private office settings,” Erin explains, but “we really wanted a more business casual setting where our members aren’t intimidated to approach one another with their ideas and can potentially partner up”.
The Fountainhead Network provides commitment-free, affordable packages that are really geared towards your specific needs. Whether you are “wanting to make your home, home again”, or struggling with “working in isolation”, Erin says the coworking space has something for everyone. Perhaps you just need a quiet space to work for an hour, or a more long term, month-to-month office solution.
